Welcher Junge ist bekannt, der nicht fasziniert wäre von Autos!? Autos waren schon immer ein Teil meiner Fantasie und Träume. Mein Traumauto, der Jaguar E-Type 2+2 stand als kleines Husky Modellauto (made in Great Bri-tain) seit 1969 als Sinnbild dafür in meinem Kinderzim-mer und später in meinem Studio.Nie hätte ich mir träumen lassen, dass ich dereinst dieses Auto in Echt mein Eigen nennen könnte.... und das auch noch als identisches Modell und gleichem Jahrgang wie mein Spielzeugauto, nämlich von 1969! Und nun ist er tatsächlich wahr geworden, dieser Bubentraum!Ich habe mein Leben lang immer wieder Autos gezeichnet, vorzugsweise die Traumautos meiner Matchbox Sammlung, die ich immer noch hege und in meinem Sammelkoffer aufbewahre... meine Bubenschätze eben. Später habe ich im Kunstunterricht als Lehrer das Thema "Auto" immer wieder aufgegriffen und meine Kinder Autos in allen Variationen zeichnen lassen, und das von der fünften bis neunten (Abschluss-) Klasse in verschiedenen Schwierigkeitsstufen... von der normalen Seitenansicht ohne Perspektive bis hin zur anspruchsvollen Dreifluchtpunkt-perspektive. Dazu habe ich meine Matchboxautos in die Klassenzimmer gebracht und jeder Schüler durfte sich ein Model (angesichts meines Alters für die Kinder natürlich alles "Oldtimer") zum Zeichnen aussuchen. Ich habe meinen Schülern zum Geburtstag auch immer wieder Autos gezeichnet. Eine kleine Auswahl meiner Autozeichnungen sind hier in diesem Büchlein versammelt.Does anybody know a Boy who isn't fascinated by autos!? Cars have always been a part of my imagination and dreams. My dream car, the Jaguar E-Type 2+2, stood as a small Husky model car (made in Great Britain) in my childhood room and later in my studio since 1969, as a symbol of this dream.I would never have dreamt that one day I would actually be able to call this car my own... and that even as an identical model and the same vintage as my toy car, namely from 1969! And now it has actually come true, this Boy's dream!I've been drawing cars all my life, preferably the dream cars from my Matchbox collection, which I still cherish and keep in my collection suitcase... my Boy's treasures. Later, as a teacher, I repeatedly picked up the topic of "cars" in art class and had my students draw cars in all variations, from the fifth to ninth (final) grades in various levels of difficulty... from the normal side view without perspective to the demanding three vanishing point perspective. I brought my Matchbox cars into the classroom and each student was allowed to choose a model (given my age, of course all "vintage cars" for the children) to draw. I always drew cars for my students' birthdays. A small selection of my auto drawings are collected here in this booklet.
