Carnival

In the capital, a holiday, the townspeople rejoice and laugh. Mirta hurries to join the general merriment. He does not know that the carnival is the time of secret murders. Mytha''s uncle is strangled, she starts a duel with the murderer herself. It is made easy wounding and finds out that the uncle was involved in a strange intrigue. Fortuneteller warns Mirta: "Death is on your shoulder." The girl is frightened, but does not want to give up and deliberately attracts the attention of the mysterious killer.
