Of the several hundred species harvested around the world, only the Indian Squids have been of major commercial importance to exporting. Squids are one of the most valuable and highly priced crustaceans in India, as well as an important export commodity. The traditional approach to identifying the species and their relationships trained taxonomist presence is very significant. However such skilled experts sometimes are unavailable as well as a limited on financial resources. This leads to increasing interest to identifying the species automatically.
