Historiography and Hermeneutics in Jesus Studies An Examinaiton of the Work of John Dominic Crossan and Ben F. Meyer

This book is of particular interest to scholars whose interest is in New Testament, historical Jesus, hermeneutics and historiography study. Donald Denton refers to the emergence of distinct approaches to historical Jesus studies, which are based on similarly distinct conceptions of the historiographic enterprise and how it relates to basic hermeneutical concerns. Trends have developed in Jesus studies that can be categorized in terms of these historiographic and hermeneutical issues.
