Maize (Zea mays L.) has a critical nutritional role to play in human as it is one of the most important cereals in the world after wheat and rice with regards to cultivation area, total production and consumption. Maize is high yielding, easy to process, readily digested and cheaper than other cereals. It is also a versatile crop, growing across a wide range of agro ecological zones.
