Detailed information

Depending on the potential a degradation effect of the module power can occur after a certain period of time. This so-called potential induced degradation (PID) only occurs when the frame is positively biased. The exposure of the solar modules to the hard environment conditions such as high temperature and humidity accelerates the power degradation. The potential difference between the frame and the cells results in a leakage current (charge transferred or polarization).
