Detailed information

This book covers a comprehensive numerical and experimental investigation carried out on a single cylinder diesel engine with a view to enhance emission characteristics. The diesel engine is fueled with methanol-diesel blend; produces highly toxic nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission which is harmful for the environment. This investigation is an attempt to reduce NOx emission from a methanol-blended diesel engine by addition of water. The numerical simulation is carried out on commercially available AVL FIRE code while experimental measurements were performed on a locally available single cylinder diesel engine. The results have been presented and analysed.
