Detailed information

Prediction of Consolidation Settlement for Fully Saturated Soil and for Unsaturated Soil were covered in many literature. Naturally, Fully Saturated Soils are found beneath Unsaturated Soils especially in Arid and Semi-Arid Zones. For Multi- Layers of Saturated and Unsaturated Soils a new coefficient of equivalent compression index (Cceq) is derived that represents one coefficient for Multi-layered unsaturated over saturated soil. Some other parameters were also studied regarding the effect of variation of the degree of Saturation on some soil properties, like settlement, compression index Cc, swelling index Cs, and relative settlement ratio, etc.
