"The Monuments of the Historic Literature" - is a new series of e-books created by the Multimedia Publishing House named after Strelbitsky. The works of varied genres entered this series: historic novels and novellas, scientific works on history, popular scientific sketches and essays, chronicles, biographies, memoirs and even the Russian tsars'' essays. "The Romance of an Empress. Catherine II" - is a work by the Polish historian, writer and publicist K. F. Waliszewski. The monograph was written in 1892.in the preface the author writes: "The fiction is totally absent in the novel. Even the legendary element has only a strictly separated place, in which you cannot refuse to it, when you have a desire to create the real picture of the past. We suppose, however, that the reader''s curiosity, as well as his love of adventures will be satisfied". The book is also interesting because of the details about the way of life and dispositions of the tsar''s court.
