Detailed information

EN-8 steel is a grade belonging to the standard of BS 970-1955, which is a standard for wrought steel for mechanical and allied engineering purpose. Also suitable for the all general engineering applications requiring a higher strength than mild steel such as general-purpose axle's shafts, gears, bolts, spindles, automotive and general engineering components, other general engineering parts etc. It is a very popular grade of unalloyed medium carbon steel, which is readily machinable in any condition. It is a medium strength steel and has good tensile strength. The analysis provides an insight on how Taguchi method has been employed with great success in experimental designs for problems with multiple parameters due to its practicality and robustness. The review will shed light on the standalone Taguchi method and integration of Taguchi method with various approaches.
