Taipei City is a political, economic, educational and cultural center with mountains and seas and a pleasant climate. It is centered on Chinese society and the core of traditional Chinese culture. It builds social harmony, freedom and democracy, and the rule of law. It is recognized as one of the safest livable cities in the world, and considered a global city. It is also identified an Alpha City by (GaWC) Research Network. Take Taipei City as an example. First, the theoretical concepts related to the process of urban planning and urban form shaping, the modern urban planning process and strategy under globalization, urban historical landscape and social cultural discourse, and 'The image of the city' (Kevin Lynch,1960). Second, the discussion on the important literatures related to Taipei City is aimed at the governors, urban development and scale, landscape and human landscape. This article mainly discusses the urban and human landscapes of the centennial Taipei City. For the formation of a city, it looks at the past and present of the ethnic groups from the perspective of social culture, to understand the overall impression of the city of Taipei from the four major perspectives.
