Detailed information

The objectives of the antenna analysis are to predict antenna characteristics such as return loss, gain, polarization, radiation pattern etc. the analysis of the microstrip antenna is complicated due to presence of inhomogeneous boundary condition, narrow frequency band characteristics, variety of patch, feed shape and substrate configurations. The most popular analytical models are the transmission line, cavity and full wave. These techniques maintain simplicity at the expense of accuracy. Full wave models have received more attention due to their rigor and higher accuracy. Prominent numerical method the finite difference time domain (FDTD) technique is more efficient for finite-sized antenna. The book entitled "Importance of analytical models on analysis of microstrip patch antenna" covers the analysis of transmission line model and FDTD model technique with antenna configurations.
