Detailed information

Sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L) Moench] is the fifth important crop in the world after wheat, rice, barley and maize. Sorghum is important staple crop in Africa, South Asia and Central America. It is grown as animal feed in USA, Australia and other developed countries. Sorghum is vulnerable to 23 different fungal diseases among which head blight and grain mold caused by Fusarium moniliforme is responsible for significant yield losses of upto 50%. Hence, in the present study an attempt is made to evaluate the plant extracts against the seed borne diseases of the sorghum.
