Motherhood is an important part of woman's life. Though becoming a mother is a beautiful dream of every woman, there is always a fearful complex about the mode & complications of delivery. During pregnancy women may experience some discomforts like constipation, backache, sleep disturbance etc mainly due to vitiation of Vata and also proper function of Apana Vata is important for normal labour. Basti is the prime treatment for Vata Dosha hence the delivery will be easy without any complication. Ayurveda gives emphasis on Garbhini Paricharya (ante natal care) for the easy delivery and also for prevent & cure the common discomforts during pregnancy. In that context Acharya Sushruta explains Payo Madhur Kshaya Siddhen Taila Basti during 8th month of pregnancy. Ksheerabala Taila is a Madhuroushadhi Sidha Taila and is a Vatahara, Shoolahara, and which has Rasayana quality. Matra Basti has the property of Vata Shamana, Anulomana, Garbha Marga Snehana and strengthen the pelvic organs. Hence this work was conducted to evaluate the effect of Ksheera Bala Taila Matra Basti in Garbhini (Pregnancy) for normal vaginal delivery.
