Detailed information

Solar Energy: Benefiting this abundant and clean energy resource to meet all our future energy demands is a great challenge to the scientific community. Dye-sensitized solar cells are considered as an alternate to conventional silicon and thin film solar cells and a tremendous effort was put in for boosting its performance and stability. The performance can be boosted by modifying various interfaces in the device by using suitable materials. Noble metal nano particles exhibit surface plasmon resonance that suggest a distinctive method for improving the device performance by enhancing photon absorption in the cell. Therefore, interfacial engineering via suitable metal oxide thin film and integrating noble metal nanoparticles for absorption enhancement offers immense possibilities for performance enhancement in dye sensitized solar cells. This book details on the performance enhancement in a dye sensitized solar cells interface engineering with niobium pentoxide and silver nanoparticles.
