Detailed information

This book introduces a study for graphene-based surfaces which make use of its unique electrical, mechanical, optical, and thermal properties. Graphene electrical conductivity and the effect of changing the chemical potential (µc) on it is explained in more details. Several applications of graphene surfaces in antenna engineering have been investigated. Graphene based frequency selective surfaces, artificial magnetic conductor, metamaterials, and reflectarray are studied. The important properties of graphene, inherent large tunability and reduce influence losses at the millimeter and THz frequency regions makes this material an ideal candidate for the next generation of tunable devices and antennas. The graphene can be integrated into the nanogaps of coupled plasmonic antennas have enabled applications such as enhancement of light detection and emission, field enhanced microscopy and spectroscopy, light harvesting, optical data storage, biomedical sensing and optical meta-surfaces.
