Detailed information

Reference evapotranspiration (ETo) is a key issue in hydrology, water resources management and irrigation scheduling. The standard Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) -56 Penman Monteith (PM) equation requires several meteorological inputs for estimating ETo, which are generally not available in most of the stations. This study is an attempt to estimate ETo using fuzzy logic models with fewer weather parameters for chhatisgarh plains.Different fuzzy sets have been formed using the parameters, namely maximum temperature (Tmax), relative humidity (RH-I) and wind speed (WS) . Developed fuzzy logic models require lesser inputs variable than input required by different empirical methods. Hence developed fuzzy model may be used to estimate ETo with fewer weather parameters.
