Retirement Income Opportunities in an Aging America

Examines the financing of private and public retirement income programs. It describes: various methods of program funding; present financial status of major programs; and the distribution of pension fund assets among various investment vehicles. Also provided is a literature summary of potential retirement program effects on U.S. savings rates. Policy issues and projected trends in financing retirement programs are considered.
