Detailed information

Aging produces a series of transformations in the human organism, causing degeneration. Among the most affected systems is the skeletal muscle, which weakens and threatens the quality of life of older adults due to the difficulty of performing daily activities, thus having more risk of falls and fatigue. All this leads to a gradual decrease in mobility that can lead to dependence. It has been shown that physical exercise is effective in preventing certain types of cancer, increasing bone mineral density, reducing the risk of falls, improving cognitive function, combating social isolation and depression, thus increasing the quality of life of practitioners and thereby reducing the need for medication and the risk of dependence, promoting healthy aging.
