Detailed information

"Out of association grows adhesion, and out of adhesion amalgamation" During the last three decades clinicians have been confronted with a continuous and fairly rapid turnover in adhesive materials. It started in the mid-'60s with the advent of the first commercialized restorative resin composites, followed in the early '70s with the introduction of the acid etch techniques clinical practice. Research into bonding agents for attachment of resins to tooth structure was started in early 1950's. The first attempt to develop on adhesive system for bonding acrylic resins to tooth structure was made by Hagger, a Swiss chemist working for the Amalgamated Dental Company in London and Zurich in 1949.
