Impact of Alcoholism

The problem of alcohol abuse has become a matter of serious public concern, especially on account of its proliferation among the youth of various socio-cultural and economic statuses. Although there are no definite figures to show the actual extent of the problem, the rising number of alcohol abuse approaches to drug counselling and de-addiction centres indicate the increasing magnitude and extent of the problem. Alcohol abuse is a burning issue and an important area of research at the moment. It is also the one area which if ignored, may lead to serious unfavorable and undesirable disastrous consequences, particularly for our younger generation.This book will highlight issues and data involving social problems like patterns of alcohol consumption, alcohol consumption and workplace problems, alcohol consumption and family problems, alcohol consumption and health problems, alcohol consumption and social problems, and domestic violence.
