Detailed information

The objective of the research is the elaboration of an educational strategy, based on the bioethical principle of autonomy, which contributes to a satisfactory longevity of the older adults who belong to the grandparents' home: Juan Almeida Bosque of Barrio de Oro de Manzanillo, which constitute the fundamental contributions. Theoretical methods are used: historical-logical, analysis and synthesis and inductive-deductive; empirical methods: observation, survey, interview, document analysis, evaluation by experts' criteria; statistical methods: descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, which allow demonstrating the relevance and effectiveness of the educational strategy. This construct offers a concrete response to the dialectic contradiction that occurs between the insufficiencies generated in the process of autonomy formation and the need to achieve a satisfactory longevity of the older adults who belong to the grandparents' home. The strategy is oriented towards the following goals: greater autonomy in the activities that are planned, greater social integration, greater relevance in the actions of the health care team.
