Detailed information

The present investigation was conducted with objectives to study the pattern of loan distribution, repayment of loans, changes in income, consumption, investment on fixed assets, employment of beneficiary families. For the present study, Pali district of Rajasthan. The findings of the study revealed that livestock activities were the most popular activities for getting the financial assistance, specially for buffalo under SGSY. About 68, 24 and 8 per cent of beneficiaries took loan for dairy (Buffalo), goat & sheep rearing and cloth selling purposes. Per capita annual consumption expenditure of beneficiary families increased by Rs. 3544.73 which was 14.91 per cent overconsumption expenditure of non-beneficiary families. Increase in annual effective mandays employed of beneficiary families was 83.56 mandays over non-beneficiary families, which accounted for 30.36 per cent increase in employmentInvestment of beneficiary families increased by Rs.16749.00 which was about 327 per cent more than the investment of beneficiary families prior to SGSY assistance. The over all impact of SGSY on economic and social development of beneficiary was found positive impact.
