This is book # 3 in the ongoing Desert Store Series. Bud Spinner, a reclusive garage owner, helps Map Girl and Geena escape Ardenville with cash and a map. Bud secretly writes car manuals. He becomes friends with two other psychic, shy recluses named Ben and Andy living in Ardenville. Meanwhile, Bud fixes cars, Ben reads sci-fi, and Andy fishes. Unbeknownst to them, they all have psychic abilities. Feeling overwhelmed by life, they buy a cabin hideaway. However, a private eye named Dan forces them to flee across the country to find Map Girl. In New Mexico, they encounter William the Dude, another psychic, who dubs them &quote;The Three Magi.&quote; William protects the three shy, gentle bachelors and finds them new home in a remote monastery in Oregon. They are making plans to spend Christmas with Map Girl in New Mexico at the Desert Store when she arrives at the monastery, changing their plans.
