Detailed information

This book examined the determinants of income inequality among cassava processors in Ondo State, Nigeria. A multistage sampling technique was used to select eighty cassava processors using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Gini coefficient and regression model with four functional forms (linear, semi log, double log and exponential) were employed for the analysis of the data collected. The Gini-coefficient of 0.65 for cassava processors indicates a relatively high level of income inequality among cassava processors. The results of regression analysis showed that the coefficients of age, level of education, years of experience, marital status, access to extension agent and membership of cooperative associations were the significant determinants of income inequality among cassava processors in the study area.
