The book &quote;Egyptian Institutes in Jerusalem&quote; reviews how Jerusalem was, throughout Islamic history, an important destination for rulers and governors from Egypt, who sought to reconstruct it and establish scientific institutions, zawiyas, and schools. In this book, we look at how the hand of construction and reform extended from Egypt to Jerusalem through the ages, starting with the Fatimids, through the Ayyubids and Mamluks, all the way to the Alawite era. The book deals with these scientific institutes that were a beacon of science and literature, and a refuge for Sufis and mujahideen, and which are considered a witness to the deep cultural and civilizational ties between Egypt and Palestine.
