Detailed information

Taking Indian ecclesial context as an example of a multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi- lingual world where pluralism becomes a landmark of our times, the author makes a study to find reasonable answers to the questions regarding the uniqueness of Jesus and the identity of the body of Christ. In searching a suitable theological tenet for the ecclesial identity of the church in India, the author compares pluralistic approach and dramatic theological approach. By using Rene Girard's mimetic theory and concept of scapegoat mechanism as auxiliary hypothesis, and the dramatic theology of Raymund Schwager SJ the author analyses mysteries of Indian religious traditions, cultures and social bodies and explain the uniqueness of the Judeo- Christian revelation and the role of the body of Christ in Indian ecclesial context.
