Detailed information

The ability of liquids under certain conditions to change to the vapour phase imposes a natural restriction on their delivery. This limitation has to be taken into consideration in the machines used to deliver the liquid and, in some cases, also in the suction lines of the pumps, otherwise there is a risk of the working materials being damaged or the operating properties and the rating of the pump being adversely affected by cavitation. The book covers the extensive field referred to by the term "cavitation", which is of the greatest economic significance, involving most industrial activities. The subject, in other words, concerns damage limitation and damage avoidance in pumps and their installations. can then be controlled and restricted by altering the geometric and operational parameters.
