Detailed information

Early childhood caries, is a syndrome characterized by severe decay in the teeth of infants or young children. Early childhood caries (ECC) is a very common bacterial infection. Its prevalence is epidemic. The ECC is one of the most common types of caries in infants and toddlers and its prevalence goes from 3.1% to 53% in some population.Because of the aggressive nature of ECC, treatment should be definitive and specific for each individual patient. This book tries to bring an insight to different treatment modalities recommended by different authors in restoring deciduous anterior and posterior teeth which help to improve the aesthetics, mastication and phonetics of the child. These techniques improve the psychological make up of the child and instills a positive attitude in them and reinforces their confidence. This book will act as a guide for the dentists who usually ignore to treat the deciduous teeth due to lack of knowledge and skills.
