Monografiya M.D. Bukharina prodolzhaet seriyu issledovaniy avtora po antichnoy i drevnevostochnoy istoricheskoy geografii. V predstavlennoy monografii pokazano, chto ni drevnegrecheskie nazvaniya Chernogo morya ( , ), ni srednevekovye (Qar Däniz) ne byli svyazany s sistemoy tsvetovoy geosimovliki, protivopostavlyavshey tsveta po orientatsii stran sveta, yakoby unasledovannoy v antichnom mire cherez tyurkskikh kochevnikov iz drevnekitayskoy astronomii. Demonstriruetsya, chto analiziruemye drevnegrecheskie nazvaniya Chernogo morya proiskhodyat ot samonazvaniya gospodstvovavshey skifskoy etnicheskoy gruppirovki (t.n. "tsarskikh skifov"). Nazvanie "Krasnoe more" proiskhodit ot motiva "krovoprolitiya" v "vody", izvestnogo iz ryada indoevropeyskikh mifologicheskikh traditsiy, t.e. eti nazvaniya ne svyazany drug s drugom.
