Detailed information

The Little prince is a classic tale of equal appeal which is written both for children and adults. This novella is both the most read and most translated book in the French language, and was voted the best book of the 20th century in France. It is translated into more than 250 languages and dialects, as well as Braille and selling over a million copies per year with sales totaling more than 140 million copies worldwide, it has become one of the best - selling books ever published. A critical outlook was adopted in this research since the researcher sought for any event occurred in translated works compared to the original text. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) tries to find the traces of power in discourse and reveal the ideology for which a discourse attempts to represent for. A close analysis of textual characteristics of texts including linguistic ones like those of vocabulary and grammar and the non linguistic features such as images can contribute to understanding of power relations and ideological procedures in discourse.
