Detailed information

Cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata) is a biennial vegetable crop belongs to Brassicaceae family and it is a popular cole crop among the vegetables growing in winter season and rich source of Vitamin A and C. The experimental site was located at Main Experiment Station, Department of Vegetable Science, Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Narendra Nagar, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U.P.) during 2011-12. Six treatments with two varietal combinations were evaluated in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. The experimental result showed that the treatment T6 (Application of IBA @ 150 ppm) displayed better response to almost all the plant growth, yield and quality with their all attributes. The maximum growth at harvesting stage, yield, acidity and ascorbic acid were obtained with the application of T6 (Application of IBA @ 150 ppm). The variety Pride of India was found significantly superior over the Golden Acre in almost all growth, yield and quality parameters with the most of auxin levels applied. On the basis of economic analysis combination of T4 (Application of IBA @ 50 ppm) and variety Golden Acre gave the maximum cost: benefit ratio.
