Ivor Novello: Screen Idol

This volume examines how British film magazines shaped Novello's star persona, while classical Greek imagery and myth informed his iconography. It also examines Novello in relation to a number of issues: the trauma of World War I, gender and sexuality, and the development of British silent films.
