Who has not seen the St Pius Church in Meggen, with its unrivalled translucent marble envelope? For over 50 years, its architect, Franz Füeg, has been designing, building, writing, and also teaching at the EPF Lausanne. Only few architects of his generation have portrayed such a diverse and comprehensive understanding of the profession.

This book not only documents the most important buildings of the proponent of Swiss post-modernism, who was born in Solothurn in 1921. His work has always raised fundamental questions about the condition of construction and the responsibility of the architect for his environment and, at the same time, provides a background to understanding contemporary criteria in architecture and urban design.
