Detailed information

Management of complex tibial plateau fractures are a challenge for the trauma surgeon. The knee being a major weight bearing joint of the body, these fractures call for a perfect anatomic reduction and a stable fixation. Often these fractures are a high velocity injuries, especially in the young adults, and are associated with significant soft tissue injury. Various treatment modalities are available and can be broadly grouped into external and internal fixation. The present book compares the method of Joshi's external satbilisation system(JESS) and the mataphyseal locking plate for the management of this complex injury.
