Detailed information

Birds from Northern Hemisphere of our earth are habitual to leave behind their respective breeding home grounds in September each year, just before the onset of severe winter season over there, an attempt to avoid extreme conditions of weather and poorest, or even cipher availability of food. This migration takes place from Arctic pole, northern Siberia, Russia to Southern part of North America, European continent, South Africa, South East Asia, Indian Subcontinent, Southern Japan and Australia, New Zealand and even Antarctica. These birds, again, habitually, visit only traditional spots upto following Feb-March and come back to the northern Hemisphere for breeding in their original home grounds between April-Late-August each year. In September they once again feel the urge to migrate and the cycle goes on. In this book, it has been attempted to determine and define the spectrum and diversity of winter migratory wetland birds that arrive specifically in rural ponds in Haryana Province in Northern India, very close to New Delhi-India's Capital. Winter migratory birds arrive in Haryana come from as far as Caspian Sea, Tibet, China, Himalayas, Southern Russia and Eastern Siberia.
