Detailed information

Water has been a media for the study of chemical and physical processes for long time. With development in chemical thermodynamics a search for new solvents other than water was started. Many non aqueous solvents were used but didn't match the potential of water. Then the idea of modifying water according to the requirement served the cause. Water modified by ascorbic acid has been used as a study medium for the thermodynamic behavior of s-block chlorides. Ascorbic acid as well as the studied metal ions are present in blood so the present study helps to explain the behavior of these ions in water from the view point of thermodynamics.
