Rectus abdominis diastasis (RAD) is a condition in which the rectus abdominus muscle separates in the midline at the linea alba. It affects 30-70% of women during pregnancy, and persists in the immediate postpartum period in about 35-60% of women. The consequences are many: interference with childbirth, ability of the abdominal and truncal muscles terminal stabilization in addition to affecting defecation and respiration. So, this condition greatly affects women's quality of life.
