Detailed information

The physico-chemical parameters of water of Chinnandankovil and Balammalpuram, two villages in Karur District, Tamil Nadu, India were analysed. They are within the permissible limits prescribed for WHO and BIS drinking water standards. The effluent of the dyeing units in these area have been decolourised by bacteria, fungi and electrochemical methods. Very excellent decolourisation efficiencies are offered by these methods.
