Sugar beet is one of the most important industrial plants in the world. It supplies about a quarter of the world's sugar demand. Sugar beet ranks eighth in global food and agricultural commodities production with about 270 million tons in 2012. Sugar beet is originated from Asia and it is usually grown under rain fed conditions. Iran was 14th in the world ranking of sugar beet producers in 2013 with a production volume of about 4.2 million tons. This book covers the academic research in five subjects, i.e. effect of conservation tillage on root yield and quality of sugar beet, effect of conservation tillage on weed control in sugar beet cropping system, effect of drought stress on root yield and antioxidant enzyme activities of sugar beet, variable rate herbicide application using the global positioning system and weed segmentation using texture features extracted from wavelet sub-images.
